Robots have taken over, eradicated humanity and flattened the cities. The only men alive are 3 survivors on an space station. But hope is not lost. Humanity’s genetic code has been saved in indestructible gene pods scattered across the 5 continents.

You must disguise yourself as a robot and beam down to collect the pods. But if the robots get too close they will see through your disguise. Defend yourself with the orbital laser. Destroyed robots will occasionally be reborn at one of the flashing creation points.

Each city will be harder than the last. Good luck.

Hiragana Piranha 4K

Hiragana Piranha 4K was originally written for the 2007 Java 4k Programming Contest but not submitted.

PLAY NOW using Java Web Start (Requires Java 1.4+)

Gameplay
Practice reading Japanese hiragana. Type in the romanized reading of each character before the piranhas get you. You’ll get hints on the earlier levels, but after level 10 you’re on your own.

Only the basic gojuon are used. You can use either Kunrei or Hepburn romanizations (e.g. SI/SHI). See Wikipedia for more information.

If you don’t see Japanese characters, you probably need to install Asian language support. See Microsoft.com for instructions for Windows XP.

Controls
Type the romanized hiragana.
